Nestled in the triangle of the great cities of Lexington-28 miles away, Louisville-90 miles away, and Cincinnati-60 miles, is the city of Cynthiana, Kentucky. Cynthiana was established in 1793 along the banks of the South Fork of the Licking River and has served many years as the hub of commerce, education and government for Harrison County and surrounding communities.
Cynthiana is well known for its industrial heritage. In 1969, 3M established a factory in Cynthiana and a few years later, in 1972, Post-It Notes were developed by Arthur Fry. The 3M factory in Cynthiana was the only production site of the Post-It Notes until patents expired in the 1990's. The 3M company in Cynthiana still accounts for nearly all Post-It Note production worldwide.
Each July thousands of people join in the festivities of the Harrison County Fair. The county fair is a 9 day event that offers horse shows, tractor pulls, antique tractor exhibits, championship wrestling, livestock shows and much more.
While in Cynthiana, you are a short drive from The Great American Ball Park, home to the Cincinnati Reds. The Cincinnati Reds is a professional major league baseball team that has won 5 World Championships, 9 Pennants and have had 12 playoff appearances since forming in 1890.
Cynthiana is less than an hour away from both The Bluegrass Airport in Lexington and the Northern Kentucky International Airport in Covington, Kentucky. The Northern Kentucky International Airport offers nonstop flights to 80 plus cities as well as shopping and dining experiences galore.
