Located in the Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky
Named for Colonel John Fleming, Flemingsburg is a busy little town in the county known as “The Covered Bridge Capital of Kentucky.” The town’s early years were filled with danger, as Indians continued to make their presence known to early settlers of the area. Once oil was discovered in later years, Flemingsburg’s economy grew considerably. The town’s business district was heavily damaged by a fire in 1905. Today, Flemingsburg is home to a number of businesses, schools, and churches.
