The Birthplace of Lincoln
Established in 1818, Hodgenville in LaRue County is famous for being the birthplace of 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Those looking for a history lesson will appreciate the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, the Lincoln Museum, and the Lincoln Boyhood Home. Among several other festivals and celebrations held throughout the year, the second weekend of October is home to their Lincoln Days festival. Festival patrons can take part in pioneer games, a quilt show, storytelling, costume contests, an antique car show, and more.
